Infinite Abundance Exercise 1 Receiving Your Breath
& Receiving Abundance by Naisha
Ahsian
Often, when
people think of how abundance would manifest in their life, they
think of having their needs met. A decent home, a drivable car,
enough money to pay the bills this month, and so on. If any one of
these "needs" is not met, we feel a lack of abundance.
But what of the
most basic needs for life? If you define abundance according to your
needs being met, then surely the first place to begin to look for
abundance in your life is in actively receiving, honoring and
celebrating the meeting of your most basic needs such as clothing,
food, shelter and water. These things are constantly provided for
you by the Divine, yet often are taken for granted.
Perhaps the most
important need that is met continually and abundantly is the need
for breath. Simply breathing is the first requirement for your life.
Every other need in your life can be met, but if this one is
withheld, you will cease to be alive. If you have this one thing,
then all other needs can be put off-at least for this moment. By
focusing on receiving the gift of your breath, you are opening
yourself to receive on many other levels. By developing this
practice, you become aware of how very little is really needed to
maintain life, and how unimportant "things" are to your true self.
In other words, you begin to recognize true abundance, which is a
state of joy in receiving the abundant gifts of the Divine; and
gratitude, which is the act of giving energy back to the Divine in
the form of thanks. This cycle of give and receive is vital to your
experience of abundance in your own life.
The following
exercise is one that will help you to begin finding abundance in
your life in two ways. First, it will draw your attention to the
first gift of abundance that is given to you at every moment - the
gift of your breath. If you practice consciously receiving this gift
from the Divine, you will find it easier to recognize that most of
your other "needs" - the things that you think you have to have in
order to be abundant-are simply desires and not needs at all.
Second, this
exercise is about entering into a state of receiving. We will focus
on receiving the life giving breath that is being supplied to us
every moment. In this state of receptivity, you will learn to stop
striving for abundance as if it is something that exists outside
yourself, and you'll begin to find abundance in this very moment.
Learning to receive from the Divine Creator is one of the most
important lessons we have. Often times we ask for something, then
don't even recognize it when it arrives. We are like insatiable
children that cry for a certain toy, then when we get it, we throw
it down and demand another more exciting toy. This inability to
receive from the Divine is caused by a constrictive attitude and
energy that is geared toward acquiring and becoming-not being and
receiving. When you make the shift from this constrictive attitude
to one of receiving, you will be in a proper energetic state to
receive abundance on all levels of your life!
Receiving Breath/
Receiving Abundance Meditation
Exercise
- Move into a
comfortable seated position, in which your body is fully supported
and you can deeply relax.
- Take three
long, slow deep breathes , fully exhaling each one as you release
tension from your body.
- As you
inhale, allow yourself to focus on the idea of receiving the
breath-instead of forcing or directing it. Simply allow your lungs
to open to completely receive the breath.
- As you
exhale, check your body to see where you are holding tension, and
release that tension with the exhale.
- Continue this
cycle of receiving breath with your body on the inhale, and
releasing tension on the exhale.
- Try to keep
your full attention on opening your body to your breath while you
completely release and relax
- Once you have
fully opened your body to your breath, begin to say in internal
"thank you" to the Divine with each exhale. Consciously receive
your breath on each inhalation and give thanks for it with each
exhalation, as you relax your muscles and continue to release
tension.
- Continue to
do this for five minutes-noticing the emotions and feelings you
have through the process.
- Welcome to
the state of abundance! Allow your self to move into this state
and experience it at least once per day for 7 days.
Tip: Use an egg timer to time your five minutes
of practice so that you can focus your total attention on receiving
your breath.
